PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compact the scale of capturing facilities without being affected by water by improving the capturing efficiency of an adsorption material or the like.
SOLUTION: A rare gas is allowed to react with an active halogen element as a rare gas halogen compound, and the rare gas halogen compound is captured by an adsorption material, thus recovering the rare gas. For example, a rare gas element in an excitation state being generated by mixing a gas containing fluorine with the rare gas for discharge excitation is allowed to react with the active fluorine element, thus obtaining the rare gas fluorine compound. The generated rare gas halogen compound is captured by a gas filter with either adsorption material of activated carbon, zeolite, or other inorganic and organic porous substances, and the rare gas halogen compound is adsorbed by the adsorption material.
