PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object movement mechanism and object movement method which utilize generated liquid-crystal flow caused by an approach of inclined dislocation as a defect structure of a liquid crystal and utilize flow caused by movement of liquid-crystal defects facilitating minute movement of an object, and a liquid-crystal flow formation mechanism and liquid-crystal flow formation method utilizing liquid-crystal defects.
SOLUTION: The object movement mechanism and object movement method comprises a fixed member 1 fixing its movement, a movement member 2 movably arranged along one face of the fixed member 1 against the fixed member 1, the liquid crystal 3 arranged between an opposed face of the movement member 2 and one face of the fixed member 1, a pair of inclined dislocation formation means for forming a pair of inclined dislocations having mutually different codes in the liquid crystal 3, and an inclined dislocation movement means for mutually approaching and separating the pair of inclined dislocations. Upon mutually approaching and separating the pair of inclined dislocations by the inclined dislocation movement means, The movement member 2 touched on the surface of the liquid crystal 3 can be moved in a direction of liquid-crystal flow so that the flow of the liquid crystal 3, which moves from one inclined dislocation to the other inclined dislocation and returns to one inclined dislocation, is generated on the surface of the liquid crystal 3.
