PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method of planar elongation viscosity capable of advancing the analysis of planar elongation viscosity with respect to a high viscosity fluid and a low viscosity fluid, and a planar elongation viscosity measuring instrument.
SOLUTION: A non-Newtonian fluid 9 is brought to a plane elongated state in a side surface gap G by pushing a cannonball-shaped bob 2 in a container 6 and, then, the reaction force F received by the cannonball-shaped bob 2 is measured. The planar elongation stress σ in the side surface gap G is calculated on the basis of push-up force, the reaction force F and the horizontal cross-sectional area of the side surface gap G using the reaction force F and respective conditions input by a user and divided by a planar elongation speed Å' to calculate planar elongation viscosity ηPE. By this method, planar elongation viscosity can be calculated even with respect not only to a non-Newtonian fluid of high viscosity but also to a non-Newtonian fluid of low viscosity hardly formed into a solid shape. As a result, the analysis of planar elongation viscosity can be advanced with respect to high and low viscosity fluids.
