Title SHAKING VESSEL OF HIGH OXYGEN-ABSORBING EFFICIENCY FOR MASS CULTURES
Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaking vessel of high oxygen-absorbing efficiency for mass cultures which is useful even in a high shearing field if the field is oxygen-absorbing rate determined.
SOLUTION: The bottom side of a flask is changed to be a spherical bottom from a flat bottom, so that the area of a liquid membrane generated in the vessel become larger and the liquid free surface area for absorbing oxygen is increased. Then, a feeding amount of liquid can be increased than a conventional round-bottle flask by making the upper part of the flask a cylindrical type, so that a mass treatment is possible. A liquid mixing is suitably maintained without retarding a revolution flow generated in the vessel by making a baffle shape a semi-cylindrical type.

従来技術はほとんどなく、三角フラスコ、丸底フラスコ、坂口フラスコ、バッフル付き三角フラスコを経験に基づいて使用していたのみである。また、新技術としては以下の文献にあるような容器の上部構造を改良して容器内への空気交換量を大きくしたものが発表されている。
