PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection system capable of detecting precisely a failure point where a grounding trouble occurs, and a method, a program and a computer-readable recording medium therefor.
SOLUTION: This failure detection system of the present invention detects a trouble that a trolley line is grounded through a structure by contact of the trolley line with the structure including a member for supporting a direct current feed voltage impression part having an electric wire and the trolley line at a predetermined height along a rail while insulating them in a plurality of portions along facility directions thereof, and orients the failure point. The failure detection system has a short-circuiting trouble (grounding trouble) detecting means for measuring a direct current voltage impressed to a protection line when the trolley line is grounded, to detect the short-circuiting trouble between the structure and the protection line, surge voltage propagation time detecting means provided respectively in both ends of the protection line for measuring a detection time of a surge voltage generated on the protection line from the failure point due to a grounding voltage, and a failure point calculation means for calculating a position of the failure point, based on the times detected by the respective surge voltage propagation time detecting means.
