PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device and an image recording method by holography where the simplification of a system constitution and the high speed recording of an image by the high speed acquisition of phase shift hologram data are attained, and further, the simplification and speeding-up of color image recording are attained.
SOLUTION: The image recording device 1 comprises: a coherent light generating means 2 for generating coherent light 21; a beam splitter 3 for splitting the coherent light 21 into reference light 22 and illuminating light 23 and emitting the same; an irradiating means 4 for irradiating an object 10 with the illuminating light 23; an image recording means 5 having a light receiving face 5a in which light sensor parts composing pixels are two-dimensionally arranged, and recording the information of light made incident on the light receiving face 5a; and a reference light incidence means 6 for making the reference light 22 incident on the light receiving face of the image recording means 5. The reference light incidence means 6 tilts the propagation direction of reference light LR made incident on the respective pixels of the light receiving face 5a in such a manner that the main phase values of the reference light LR are controlled to the mutually different values in the adjacent pixels, and makes the reference light LR incident on the light receiving face 5a.
