|Title||NEW MEDICINAL USE OF PROTEOGLYCAN|
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new medicinal uses of proteoglycan comprising a core protein and glycosaminoglycan (acidic mucopolysaccharide) bound to the protein, and existing in the skin, cartilage, bone, blood vessel wall, or the like, as main constituting elements of the extracellular matrix.
SOLUTION: There is provided a differentiation induction inhibitor of Th17 cells including, as an active ingredient, proteoglycan obtained by refining cartilages of salmon, shark, cow, whale, etc., as raw materials, which effectively acts to multiple sclerosis and inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn disease, ulcerative colitis) and others, where the Th17 cells get involved with formation of pathologic conditions.
