PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical operation support system, where relatively quick and accurate positioning is possible between patient's 3D surface shape data obtained by measurement with a 3D surface shape scanner and his/her 3D inner shape data obtained beforehand in the event of changes in the patient's body position in addition to his/her skin surface shapes during operation.
SOLUTION: The operation support system 1 includes a 3D surface shape scanner 20 for measuring the 3D surface shape of a patient 60 and an arithmetic device 40 to deal with data from the 3D surface shape scanner. The arithmetic device stores beforehand the patient's 3D inner shape data obtained from a 3D tomographic scanner 30. The arithmetic device includes a means to position between the 3D inner shape data and the 3D surface shape data by applying the data among the 3D inner shape data, for the body regions having a small distance between the bone structure and skin surfaces, and the 3D surface shape data corresponding to these body regions.
