PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic voltage regulator for regulating a voltage of a distribution line at a prescribed voltage in a distribution system to which a photovoltaic power generation system is connected, which prevents a power reception voltage at a user 20 from deviating from a proper range due to inability of the automatic voltage regulator to follow an output fluctuation of the power generation system by estimating the output fluctuation of the power generation system so that the automatic voltage regulator can respond in advance in order to hardly receive an influence from the fluctuation.
SOLUTION: An automatic voltage regulator has a solar radiation sensor 30 for detecting an amount of solar radiation to estimate power generation output of a photovoltaic power generation system. According to the amount of solar radiation detected by the sensor, a reference voltage to adjust the voltage of the automatic voltage regulator is shift controlled by a prescribed amount within a predetermined proper range. The automatic voltage regulator has a reference voltage generation circuit 11 for shift controlling the reference voltage higher when the amount of solar radiation is large, and the reference voltage lower when the amount of solar radiation is small separately.
