PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic separator capable of efficiently trapping suspended solids at the time of separating substances in liquid to be treated by magnetic force as magnetic suspended solids by a flocculant containing magnetic body particulates and being continuously operated virtually without interrupting treating work at a low cost.
SOLUTION: The continuous magnetic separator comprises: a conduit provided with an opening part on an upper part and composed of a non-magnetic material for putting the liquid to be treated in; a pair or two or more pairs of magnets arranged below the water level of the liquid to be treated for forming a magnetic field in a horizontal direction holding the conduit there between near the side face outer wall of the conduit; an attraction plate composed of a magnetic body arranged and molded so as to be roughly in a disk plate shape as the whole and a magnetic filter layer covering the periphery, provided with a rotary shaft parallel with the magnetic field, and arranged such that the roughly lower half of an attraction surface vertical to the rotary shaft is immersed in the liquid to be treated at all times to attract the suspended solids and the roughly upper half of the attraction surface is exposed to the upper outer part in the state of attracting the suspended solids at all times; and a suspended solid scraping part arranged on the side exposed to the outer part of the attraction plate.
