PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for measuring eyeball position which neither restrains a subject to be measured from moving its own body nor blocks its own visual field to measure the position of its eyeball.
SOLUTION: The instrument comprises at least three electrodes stuck around an eye to detect potentials at their respective positions, which are then appropriately combined to obtain a potential difference. The eyeball is assumed to be a battery to make a model, wherein an EM algorithm technique is used to repeat the alternate estimation of an electric current density and an eyeball position over a plurality of time cycles, wherein the electric current density is a density of an electric current flowing from the retina to the cornea of the eyeball.
