PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Fe2VAl-based thermoelectric conversion material which can demonstrate better efficiency in power generation and is made from a combination of low-cost and nonpoisonous elements.
SOLUTION: As for the basic structure of the Fe2VAl-based thermoelectric conversion material, where the total valence electron number per chemical formula is 24, at least a part of each of Fe and V is substituted with other element. When the other element by which Fe is substituted is Co, and the other element by which V is substituted is M, the element M is chosen from a group, which consists of 4 to 6 group of the fourth to sixth periods in the Periodic Table. The amount of substitution of element Co and element M is adjusted within 0<α<1 and 0<β<1, while a general formula of (Fe1-αCoα)2(V1-βMβ)Al is satisfied. It is controlled as p-type so that the total valence electron number per chemical formula is not smaller than 23.5 and less than 24, and it is controlled to be an n-type so that the total valence electron number per chemical formula is larger than 24 and not larger than 24.5.
