PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic separation device and a magnetic separation method for magnetic precipitate such that the device can be constituted at low cost, separation efficiency of a magnetic precipitate is high, and a magnetic filter is used.
SOLUTION: The magnetic separation device includes a bulk magnet 10 which is excited in a superconducting state, a beltlike magnetic filter 20 which is arranged nearby an N pole 15a and an S pole 15b of the bulk magnet 10, and a magnetic yoke 23 which forms a magnetic circuit with a part of the magnetic filter 20 being in contact with the magnetic filter 20. The magnetic filter 20 is continuously closed in an annular shape, and the bulk magnet 11 and magnetic yoke 23 are arranged inside the magnetic filter 20. The magnetic filter 20 is configured to move in in-plane directions of the N pole 15a and S pole 15b, and the magnetic yoke 23 is arranged in a space which is not substantially affected by magnetic field spaces 13a, 13b that the bulk magnet 11 forms.
