PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch input device for performing highly accurate touch determination by flexibly facilitating countermeasures to an environmental change in the case of performing touch determination with respect to a projection image.
SOLUTION: A touch position input device includes: a camera for always photographing a projection image on a screen; and an information processor for storing a background image in which the finger or the shadow of the finger as a foreground is not projected in a touch area on the projection image, storing a reference image in the case of starting touch determination, projecting a color which is different from the background color of the reference image to the touch area, storing a changed image whose background color is different from that of the reference image, recognizing an area with no change in color in the touch area as the area of a background by contrasting the background image with the reference image, recognizing an area with no change in color as the area of a shadow by contrasting the reference image with the changed image, recognizing an area excluding the area of the shadow and the area of the background in the touch area as the area of a foreground, and, when the area rate of the area of the foreground and the area of the shadow is not less than a predetermined value, determining that the touch area has been touched.
