PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-circular machining method that permits non-circular machining of a workpiece through turning, which has high efficiency of working.
SOLUTION: The non-circular machining method through turning includes a machining shape reading step S1 which reads the machining shape data of the workpiece, a crossing line creating step S2 which creates a crossing line of a rake face of the cutting tool and a surface of the machining shape of the workpiece in every degree of predetermined rotation angle of the workpiece, tool locus sequence of points creation step S3 which creates the locus sequence of points of cutting tool under consideration of feeding amount of cutting tool on a spline curve corresponding to the crossing line, reference point locus sequence of points creation step S4, which creates locus sequence of points of moving reference point of cutting tool based on the tool locus sequence of points, and a turning data generation step which calculates feed amount in the first and second directions for every degree of predetermined rotation angle of the workpiece based on locus point parallel connection data which is obtained by connecting reference point locus sequence of points, and generates the turning data.
