PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active connection mechanism applicable to a searching device particularly for searching the narrow wreckage internals of buildings in the time of earthquake or disaster.
SOLUTION: The active connection mechanism comprises a pair of articulation driving shafts and a propulsion driving shaft, and the shafts has central portions joined to each other via universal joints. The articulation driving shafts are turnably journaled to each other with screws formed at both ends in mutually opposite directions, and their shaft elements joined to each other via the universal joints with turning operation are symmetrically moved in/out of units to vary the length of the articulation driving shaft between the units. The propulsion driving shaft is rotatably journaled at both ends to the units with a length between the units fixed. A first unit is turned around the universal joint at the central portion.
