PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system having a novel imaging system of forming an image similar the case where a mirror reflects an object in a space where the mirror is not actually present.
SOLUTION: The optical system X including a light beam inflection surface 1 having an effect of forming a real image to a plane symmetrical position by allowing transmission of light while bending the light and a mirror surface 2 arranged toward the light beam inflection surface is constituted. The image of the object O to be projected arranged on an observation side which is the side opposite to the mirror surface 2 interposing the light beam inflection surface 1 in-between is formed in a position reflected to an immaterial virtual mirror 3 transferred to a plane symmetrical position with respect to the mirror surface 2 to the light beam inflection surface 1 by transmitting the light emitted from the object O to be projected through the light beam inflection surface and reflecting the light on the mirror surface 2 and further transmitting the light through the light beam inflection surface.
