PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake resistant structure and an earthquake resistant house which can relatively easily incorporate earthquake resistant structure into an existing house, and which are excellent in the earthquake resistance.
SOLUTION: The earthquake resistant structure for reinforcing a wall of a house built already by a framework construction method comprises a rectangular frame which comprises two adjacent columns 4, 5 installed upright, a lower horizontal beam 6, and an upper horizontal beam 7 and whose inside forms an empty space C; a reinforced wall 20 which is inside the rectangular frame in a state being put on the lower horizontal beam 6 and interposed between the two columns 4, 5, and that a plurality of square timbers 13 are arranged side by side along the lower horizontal beam 6 and the adjacent square timbers 13 are connected by a fastening means (coach bolt 14); a fixing means (coach bolt 14) for fixing the reinforced wall 20 to the rectangular frame; and a shear force reducing means (metal fitting 16 and fitting pin 17) provided between adjacent square timber members 13 for reducing the shear force occurring along the longitudinal direction of square timbers 13 between adjacent square timbers 13.
