PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for removing impurities capable of continuously and efficiently removing impurities in a liquid crystal with simple constitution.
SOLUTION: A device for removing impurities has a liquid crystal supply part 24 to flow a liquid crystal 20 to be treated and an adsorbent supply part 22 to flow an ion adsorbent 12. Each of the openings 22a, 24a is formed at the adsorbent supply part 22 and the liquid crystal supply part 24 and positioned so as to face each other. A sheet of filter 16 to close and isolate the openings 22a, 24a is provided. An electrode 14 is provided at the opposite side of the filter 16 of the adsorbent supply part 22. The liquid crystal 20 and the ion adsorbent 12 are in contact with the front and rear surfaces of the filter 16. An impurity ion 20a in the liquid crystal 20 is drawn to an ion adsorbent 12 side by applying an electric field to the ion adsorbent 12 from the electrode 14 and removed from the inside of the liquid crystal 20.
