PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method of a gas separation membrane which can be selectively permeated by a part of gas molecule in gas by designing a pore structure provided by applying a stress onto polymer material having a regular pore structure.
SOLUTION: Structure transition to S-I type crystal occurs by applying a compression stress from a direction vertical to an axial direction with respect to syndiotactic polystyrene made of ε type crystal in which pores to be permeated in the axis direction along a polymer chain by gas are formed. On the S-I type crystal, pores having a number of voids which are formed such that a gas molecule can be stored and are arranged in zig-zag shape and a number of communication paths which are formed narrower than the voids and successively connect voids adjacently arranged to each other are formed and, thereby, the pores can be designed so as to be selectively permeated by a part of gas molecules in gas.
