PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a higher fatty acid detection sensor capable of quickly detecting higher fatty acid, and further, in methane fermentation processing of organic waste, quickly detecting higher fatty acid in fermentation processing liquid in order to avoid that obstruction of higher fatty acid occurring in an oil and fat decomposition process interrupts continuous operation, thereby enabling concentration monitoring.
SOLUTION: In order to adsorb and detect higher fatty acid in organic waste fermentation liquid, a higher fatty acid detection sensor where a double coating comprising a first film functioning for insulation on a surface of a quartz resonator, and a second film functioning for higher fatty acid adsorption is formed, is used to quantitatively measure higher fatty acid concentration in methane fermentation liquid in a short time. As the first film functioning for insulation, polymeric polyvinyl butyral can be, for example, used, and as the second film functioning for higher fatty acid adsorption, polymeric styrene divinyl benzene copolymer can be, for example, used.
