PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slope collapse prediction method and a slope collapse prediction device capable of correctly predicting the slope collapse that occurs at each target point.
SOLUTION: A slope collapse prediction method calculates a time series value up to the present time of an effective rainfall amount with half life as a parameter using rainfall amount data of the past rainfall event at a target point, sets a first boundary line passing through the maximum value of the time series value of a first effective rainfall amount in parallel with a Y axis and a second boundary line passing through the maximum value of the time series value of a second effective rainfall amount in parallel with an X axis on a XY coordinate plane with the first and second effective rainfall amounts as the X axis and the Y axis with a long half life and a short half life as parameters, and prepares the XY coordinate plane for determination. Next, from the rainfall amount data of a prediction target rainfall event, the time series values of third and fourth rainfall amounts with a long half life and a short half life as parameters are serially calculated together with the advancement of the prediction target rainfall event, and when an observation point at which the time series value of the third effective rainfall amount and the fourth effective rainfall amount at the same time are defined as the X value and Y value is positioned at a region which exceeds the first boundary line or a region which exceeds the second boundary line in the XY coordinate plane for determination, it is determined that there is a possibility of causing the slope collapse.
