PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionizer having a structure suitable for mass spectrometry.
SOLUTION: An ionizer 1 comprises: a cylindrical capillary 20 for spraying a solvent to supply to a base end from its leading end. The capillary 20 comprises spiral elongated strips 23 on its inner peripheral face, extending along and around an axial direction and providing a whirling motion to the solvent. The capillary 20 further comprises: an inside cylinder 21 shaped in a cylindrical form and allowing the solvent to circulate therein; and an outside cylinder 22 disposed outward in a radial direction of the inside cylinder 21 and allowing an ancillary fluid to circulate between the inner peripheral face and an outer peripheral face of the inside cylinder 21. The spiral elongated strips 23 are disposed along an inner peripheral face of the inside cylinder 21 in an axial direction, which may be further disposed on at least one of the outer peripheral face of the inside cylinder 21 and an inner peripheral face of the outside cylinder 22 along the axial direction.
