PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive flight simulator with motion for a small aircraft comprising a novel parallel mechanism providing a large operation range and a wide angle since, in a simulator for an aircraft, a Stewart type parallel mechanism is conventionally used for a large craft, but inclination is insufficient in the extreme operation of a small craft, particularly in the reproduction of states of stalling, spinning or the like, and its operation range is also small.
SOLUTION: The free motion flight simulator apparatus comprises a parallel mechanism of a configuration wherein three sets of X-Y units 6 with two linear driving actuators 2 perpendicularly crossed on a plane surface are arranged at 120-degree intervals in opposing positions on a circumference, three sets of receiving parts are arranged at 120-degree intervals in opposing positions on a circumference in a lower part of a motion plate 1, and driving parts of the X-Y units 6 and the receiving parts of the motion plate are connected by three sets of legs 3 having rotary bearing structures 4 in upper parts and spherical bearing structures 5 in lower parts so as to correspond to each other.
