Report name (In Japanese)量子固体と非線形光学:新しい光学過程の開拓
Technology summary (In Japanese)本課題では「孤立原子/分子の量子性と擬縮系の高密度性を併せ持つ」光学媒質を実現する事により「気相の原子/分子系で発展してきた光学過程と凝縮系で発展してきた光学過程の双方の特長を兼ね備える新しい非線形光学過程」を開拓している。本計画では光学媒質として固体水素を,非線形光学研究からその基盤を与える光学結晶として十分な質を持つ結晶作成法及び制御法の開発を行っている。また,量子固体としての基礎的な物理を明らかにするため精密な分光・物性測定に関わる研究を展開している。以下の項目について,平成11年度の実施内容を報告した。
1)非線形光学/量子光学:強結合非線形光学(大きなコヒーレンスとサイドバンド発生,透明媒質中での低群速度光伝播,超高Q値球状光共振器),
2)固体水素の基礎的分光・物性計測(バイブロンの位相緩和:ラマン遷移の精密測定,バイブロンの熱緩和:熱レンズ分光,固体水素の光散乱計測)
